Valencia Basket men’s team faces its second game of the week as they visit the court of the team on the best run in the competition, Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade (Friday 27th, 8:30 PM, Belgrade Arena, Movistar Deportes 3), in a matchup corresponding to Round 34 of the EuroLeague.
After starting the week with an 85–84 win over Olympiacos Piraeus, the “taronja” side now takes on the challenge of securing another victory in one of the toughest atmospheres in the competition, against a team that has been the best defensive side in the tournament over the last eight rounds (allowing 1.07 points per possession since Round 26).
Valencia Basket has won two of its three visits to this opponent’s court, although they suffered a heavy defeat in the most recent meeting there. In the first-round matchup this season, however, Valencia claimed an 86–73 victory.
For the trip that will take our team to Burgos directly from Belgrade, coach Pedro Martínez will have thirteen players from his professional roster due to the absences of Jean Montero (injured in his right hand in the final play of Tuesday’s EuroLeague game) and forward Xabi López-Arostegui (hamstring muscle injury).
Valencia Basket begins this round in fourth place in the EuroLeague standings with a 21–12 record.
